Facilities include screened shelters; campsites with water and electricity (premium sites are available); campsites with water and electricity in a group trailer area with a pavilion; restrooms with showers; outdoor showers; picnic sites; a fish-cleaning shelter; an interpretive center; a self-guiding nature/interpretive trail; a Texas State Park Store.; 4 miles of multi-use trails for hiking and mountain bike riding; a .25-mile nature/interpretive trail; and a two-lane, concrete boat ramp located at Pirates Cove adjacent to the park.

Wading and shore birds, mottled and mallard ducks, raccoons, armadillos, and marsh rabbits can be found in the park for observation and photography. Beach or surf fishing for spotted seatrout, sandtrout, redfish, black drum, croaker, and flounder are also available.

Darren8/29/2008 4:48:00 PMGreat park, one of our favorite stops throughout the year. Purchase a State Park pass and avoid the per person per day charge.
Donna Ybarra7/31/2008 3:03:00 PMI love going to the Galveston State Park with my grandchildren or just alone. We stayed in our camper couple of years ago and loved it but it was $15.00 per night and I do not remember the cost per person
ed7/27/2008 8:09:00 PMmy wife and i recently stayed here for 5 days .the park is okay, but we were surprised at check in when we were told the price per night. when making our arrangements i was told that a nights stay was 20.dollars per night, this is true except they add 5.dollars per person per night which makes our stay 30.dollars per night. i feel this is a very deceptive practice for a state park to have; so be warned!
