Isle to Host Two Great Fall Festivals This October
Historic downtown Galveston will come alive the last weekend of October when two premier fall events share the same weekend: October 24-26, 2008. Kicking off Friday evening, October 24, the 27th annual Island Oktoberfest will begin a fun, family weekend of great music, authentic German food, libations, auction, raffle, games, and much more on the grounds of and streets adjacent to First Lutheran Church, 24th and Winnie. This event will continue Saturday, October 25th, from 11am-7pm. Next, the 11th annual ARToberFEST will get underway - just a few blocks down the street in the heart of the Downtown Arts and Entertainment District - on Postoffice between 21st and 23rd Streets, from 10am-6pm on Saturday, October 25th and continuing Sunday, October 27th from 10am-5pm.
